MANDOCELLO MC-4 is a mandocello that was recreated from the old one called K-4 and produced in Gibson factory in the past. It is carved instrument with a scroll and two points and tuned like a violoncello - cc, gg, dd, AA. While the body shape is slightly similar to the original Gibson's K-4, the internal bracing construction is totally different as well as the arched top. Roman as a member of the Guilt of Prague Luthiers used his great knowledge about the traditional violin constructions and created great sounding instrument that could be the goal for all those musicians playing from classical music to some ethnical music. All our mandocellos are equipped with the Virzi tone producer - special spruce disc placed under the soundboard that makes more overtones. Top is made from top grade European spruce, back sides and neck from high curly European maple - the same tonewoods that Antonio Stradivari used for his violins.
