About MASTERWORKS Guitars

We believe that there is a great advantage in learning from the past. Therefore in our AUTHENTIC flattop guitars we made the best of the finest guitars ever made – the 1930s Martin style 28 and 18 and also some Larson and Gibson made flattops. However we also believe each generation should expand its knowledge, innovating that experience into the present. And so we put all our knowledge of pre-war techniques together with that what we’d learned using our skills as luthiers, players and trained engineers into ROZAWOOD MASTERWORKS guitars.

ROZAWOOD MASTERWORKS is a group of our flattop guitars with modern looks, a new design and construction elements satisfying demands for modern high-end instruments. This series is the result of Roman’s lifelong quest that started some 30 years ago and linking pre-war ideas to 21th century innovations. Playing a MASTERWORKS guitar is a true revelation.

The idea to create our MASTERWORKS flattops was incited by enthusiastic responses to our custom designs, leaving our traditional “rose-look”. Encouraged by our Dutch friend, Mr. Rudi Bults from “The Fellowship of Acoustic”, Roman developed three base design variants for our new flattop style (WOODSTOCK, ARTCRAFT and BELLISIMO) and joined them with his old invention of the “double soundhole” guitar. And so the unique creation of the MASTERVOICE guitar with the unprecedented acoustic speaker system was born …

We left out the adjustable truss rod neck reinforcement for these guitars and used an innovation of the Martin pre-war T-bar neck system – a double carbon tube going not only through all neck but glued even to the top bracing. The result of this solution is uncompromisingly stiff and lighter neck with a remarkable impact on the sound of the whole instrument.

All new ROZAWOOD MASTERWORKS can be recognized by our new stylish “RZW” logo.

An option of four different position marks on the fingerboard is standard for all our MASTERWORKS guitars. Together with side position dots you can choose between a blank fingerboard without any inlay or unique birds, bats or butterflies wooden or pearl position inlays.

 

All our instruments are purely acoustics, but can be equipped with most types of pickup systems on the customer’s demand if requested.
